I can't remember a time when I didn't love books, but two particular memories stay with me. As a young girl I picked up Little Women, read it straight through, and promptly turned to page one to start all over again. The next book I did that with was Mind Hunter by John Douglas, tales about profiling serial killers.
And a twisted romantic was born.

I write about older characters because they are more interesting to me. They are to the point in life where they know what they don't know. I currently have three series. The Casino Nights series is my hottest. It revolves around the members of Team 2 at the Red Rose Casino in Las Vegas. This group tends to allow their pasts to dictate their futures. The Cameron Farms Trilogy is small town based and features redemption and second chances. The Change Series is about people who are unhappy in their current place in life and when opportunity presents itself- they grab it with both hands.

Melissa Keir has always wanted to be an author when she wasn't hoping for a career as a race car driver. Her love of books was instilled by her mother and grandparents who were avid readers. She'd often sneak books away from them so that she could fantasize about those strong alpha males and plucky heroines. In middle school and high school, Melissa used to write sappy love poems and shared them with her friends and still has those poems today! In college her writing changed to sarcastic musings on life as well as poems with a modern twist on fairy tales and won awards for her writing.

We’re S.K. Anthony and Raymond Esposito, your hosts at Writers After Dark. She writes those urban-fantasy–superhero-badass-chicks-with-a-touch-of-romance stories and he writes those dark fiction-things-that-go-bump-in-the night tales.
When it comes to writing, we don’t agree on genre, but we do agree that . . . we love stories . . . and one of the things we love most: hanging out in our mostly-sober, Writers After Dark studio and debating the merits of just about anything related to the story of life.
